Dwan extends lead further in durrrr challenge

Dwan extends lead further in durrrr challenge

Monday, 15 March 2010

Patrik Antonius can’t be feeling too great about the $200/$400 PLO durrrr challenge at the moment – with less than 20,000 hands to play he’s trailing by a whopping $1.98m, the last session seeing him drop $230,710 in less than 100 hands.

Dwan has dominated proceedings since hand 24,000 or so. While they were breakeven essentially for the first 10,000 hands, Antonius took the initiative and reached a lead of over $500,000.

A few thousand hands later they were back to even before durrrr won and lost over $1,000,000 in just 6,000 hands – beat that, Isildur1! Oh, right… he has. Anyway, since hand number 23-24,000 Dwan has been ahead. His lead has now peaked at a most impressive figure and it looks like the Finn might have to consider cutting his losses and paying up the $500,000 now.

Or not – who knows? At this rate, it looks like Dwan will be picking up a profit of over $2.5m from this challenge, which we guess makes it worth the year-plus length. Then again, Antonius could go on an unprecedented heater and take this down. It’s PLO, anything can happen.
