Daniel Negreanu at nosebleed games on PokerStars

Daniel “KidPoker” Negreanu has been setting the discussion forums alight all around the poker Internet after spending time at the $100/$200 shorthanded games on PokerStars.

Negreanu, who rarely plays online cash games and is known to perform poorly in televised nosebleed games, said he wanted to improve his game.

“I am not Durrr and I'm not Ivey. Wouldn't be foolish enough to say I can compete with them at this point,” he admitted to the Two Plus Two forums in this thread. “I don't want to learn how to be an "ok" player who can grind. I want to learn how to be really good, and sometimes that means trying things that on the surface don't appear to make much sense. Most likely a lot of it will be pure leaks, but occasionally you'll stumble upon something that could potentially be very effective. Before Isuldur was over betting the river regularly, did anyone really think that could be an effective strategy? Probably not.”

Negreanu plays one table at a time online so naturally players are saying he needs a bigger sample size of winning hands. Well, he’s played around 2,000 at this point which is several hours. He’s a live player, sure, but for God’s sake Daniel add another table or two.
