DYBYDX wins PokerStars WCOOP High Roller for $430k

Monday, 5 September 2011

The PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker began with the first three events last night, the highlight of which was undoubtedly the $10,300 High Roller event that saw online poker’s best and brightest turn out and compete for the big title.

A nice round 200 players participated, making the prize pool bang on $2,000,000 and generating a first prize of $430,000. To list the big names that competed in the event would take up too much of everyone’s time, suffice to say that Kevin MacPhee, Tobias Reinkemeier and Tom Marchese all made the final table.

It was MacPhee who made it furthest before being eliminated by eventual winner DYBYDX in a big coinflip, leaving the two UK players to battle it out for the biggest WCOOP title. The final hand saw xraypies put it in with Q-7o while DYBYDX held K-4, which paired up to ship him the title.

The final table payouts were as follows:

1. DYBYDX ($430,000)
2. xraypies ($310,000)
3. Kevin “ImaLuckSac” MacPhee ($235,000)
4. Skilled G ($175,000)
5. roi kin23 ($120,000)
6. Tobias “PokerNoob999” Reinkemeier ($100,000)
7. MatchBalla ($80,000)
8. SenorPokes ($60,000)
9. Tom “kingsofcards” Marchese ($40,000)
