The high stakes online action has understandably been somewhat quiet given the competing attractions of the WSOP and the crazy high stakes action at the Aria.
PokerStars has seen some big action in recent days though with Sander 'Bernsden12' Bernsden the major beneficiary. The Dutch youngster crushed the $25/$50 and $50/$100 NLHE and PLO tables to notch up a profit of $291k over 3,256 hands. Bernsden tangled in short handed action with a variety of opponents including Ilari Sahamies and Gozoboro. The biggest donor to the Bernsden bankroll was PimpyLimpy though who dropped $184k at the $25/$50 tables.EDWARDHOPPER was the day's other big winner, up over $57k at the $25/$50 and $50/$100 PLO tables. They both have some way to catch the big winners of 2012 though. According to HighStakesDB.com, EireAbu is the biggest winner of the year to date, up $2,955,715 followed by Sauce123 ($2,245,335), bernard-bb ($1,441,943), Phisherman36 ($1,313,823) and Kanu7 ($1,144,790).Follow the action at PokerStars with a first deposit bonus of up to £400. Things are really starting to heat up at this year’s WSOP with a number of events all now ensuring the riffling of chips doesn’t stop echoing through the halls of The Rio. Indeed, yesterday’s early session saw two bracelet winners crowned in the form of John Beauprez and Mike Gorodinsky.
Who's the best in Europe?
While most attention has understandably been focussed on Wembley these past few days there was the not so small matter of the latest leg of the Grosvenor UK Poker Tour (GUKPT) to consider over the weekend.
