BarneyR2005 wins almost a quarter-million in Sunday Million

Now that the 2010 World Series of Poker is truly over for all but nine players, the big online tournaments have been building momentum again. A stellar example, as always, is the PokerStars Sunday Million $1.5m guaranteed that saw 8,319 entrants create a total prize pool of more than $1.66m.
BarneyR2005 came to the final nine of the Sunday Million at fourth place in the chip counts, pretty much bang on the average stack with a little over 30 big blinds. The chip leader was B Buddy who had accumulated over 20,000,000 in chips since the money bubble burst at 1,260 players.
It was inevitable that B Buddy would get heads-up but BarneyR2005 did well to get there at all, especially holding a slight chip lead over the once insurmountable stack of B Buddy. In the heads-up confrontation the eventual winner’s aggression was enough to dominate the match and get him to over 70m in chips before the final hand:
B Buddy pushed all-in with A7o and BarneyR2005 called with 97s for a 3-1 underdog matchup before the flop. Nevermind – a 9-7-K flop sorted him out and shipped him the tournament, with no deals made the first prize was almost a quarter-million dollars.
