After WCoOP Hiatus, Sunday Million Returns with $1.53m
Monday, 28 September 2009
Now that the PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker has come to an end - having shattered it’s $40,000,000 guarantee by giving away over $50m – the weekly Sunday Million has returned.
This week, with half the PokerStars PROs currently fighting for the final table in London at the WSOPE, 7,515 players registered for a $1,503,000 prize pool and a first-place prize of over $225,000.
After ten hours the final table was reached, with eventual winner nomaddman coming to the table as third place in chips. He soon eliminated another big stack in seventh place to take a pot of over 15m and soar into the chip lead.
With four players left the following deal was negotiated:
Seat 1: nomaddman (26,911,579 in chips) = $159,233.00
Seat 2: RonaldKosh (13,715,231 in chips) = $133,000.00
Seat 3: jas42 (23,520,960 in chips) = $149,000.00
Seat 8: mikal12345 (11,002,230 in chips) = $120,002.11
Eventually, after some rollercoaster swings, nomaddman and mikal12345 reached the heads-up stage with the latter holding a slight chip advantage. After chipping away, nomaddman soon took the whole shebang with AJ over AT – a jack on the board sealed the deal and shipped him the extra $30,000 on top of his $159k.
The full final table positions and payouts are as follows:
1st place: nomaddman ($189,233.00)
2nd place: mikal12345 ($120,002.11)
3rd place: jas42 ($149,000.00)
