“!P0krparty¡” wins $330k and takes on Phil Galfond
Monday, 21 November 2011
The man (or woman) who annoys poker writes everywhere, “P0krparty¡”, is still an unknown player at the PokerStars high stakes games despite an epic run with six-figure swings over the past few weeks. A very much known player, Phil “MrSweets28” Galfond, was the latest victim.
Our mystery player had already had a profitable session of $25/$50 PLO across several short-handed tables before he took on Galfond, widely considered one of the best Omaha players around, across a staggering nine tables of $50/$100 Omaha heads-up.
Galfond got some initial losses back but still dropped six figures, compounding the victory for “P0krparty¡”, who cleaned up at the short-handed tables. The only other victor was
Brian “aba20” Townsend, who booked five or six buy-ins in profit. “GARFIELD25” was the big loser, dropping $50k from what was at one point a $200k profit.
