durrrr vs jungleman12 resumes; Dwan wins $50k

Monday, 29 November 2010

Just when we were wondering if the durrrr challenge would ever resume again, it does. Psychic, we are. Over the weekend Daniel "jungleman12" Cates and Tom "durrrr" Dwan played a session of just under ninety minutes. They got 769 hands out of the way and Dwan found himself a $47,341.50 winner.

This puts the total number of hands played at 9,783 out of the targeted 50,000; despite this fairly slow progress it has only been over eight sessions so it's going far speedier than the challenge
versus Patrik Antonius. Yeah, that one you'd forgotten about. It's still not finished.

One highlight of the weekend's action was that they played one of the top ten biggest pots of the entire challenge Dwan called jungleman12's 4-bet and the two saw a 3h-6s-6d flop. Dwan check-called every street as the dealer laid out a nine and a second three and Cates bet $4,800; $14,000 and the rest of his stack on the flop, turn and river. Dwan flipped over 6-3 for the flopped full house.

Currently jungleman12 is up $645,667 after the 9,783 hands played which translates to roughly 13.5 buy-ins of $40,000. Dwan initially started off as a winner but has been in the red for this challenge for the past few thousand hands.
