durrrr Challenge – 25,000 Hand Summary

Sunday, 11 October 2009

Tom “durrrr” Dwan and Patrik Antonius have now played over half of the required hands in durrrr’s Million Dollar Challenge – in total, the pair have played 25,145 hands with Dwan currently holding a $697,532 lead.

This might seem like a lot, but both players have had leads of over half a million in this challenge, only to lose them in the very next session. Overall, the two have wagered a staggering $200,000,000 across the four tables of $200/$400 PLO over 38 sessions.

The largest pot was a near-half million monster that saw each player put $15,600 in the middle before the flop. After a flop check-raise from durrrr, the two got it in on a 6s-6d-Qs-9d board with durrrr holding 9c-8d-7d-6c for a full house and straight flush draw. However, Antonius had him crushed with Kc-Qd-Qh-9d for the nut full house. A blank river sealed the deal to send a $477,000 pot Antonius’s way.

Dwan stands to win $500,000 from Antonius in addition to his profits if he can keep his upward trend going – if not, the Finn will take $1.5m from durrrr.
