Friday, 27 July 2012

It appears that it is a case of when rather than if social media giants Zynga step into the world of real-money online poker. Company CEO Mark Pincus told investors on a conference call about ambitious plans for the company over the next year.

Pinkus said that their "first products (are) in development" and that they "intend to release them in markets that are regulated and open, subject to our getting licensing.”

With 250million players of Zynga Games worldwide and around 125,000 players of their play money poker game Zynga could be in a position to become a real player in the real money sphere.

The company have reportedly been in discussion with GTECH G2 and Playtech about the supply of an online poker platform.

The San Francisco-based firm posted disappointing financial results earlier this week, reporting a loss of $108m for the first six-months of 2012.
