Yevgeniy Timoshenko Beats Superstar Field at APT Macau

Monday, 1 September 2008

American-Ukranian Yevgeniy Timoshenko took down the Macau leg of the Asian Poker Tour as the Olympics left China, netting $500,000 and setting a milestone for Asian poker.

Timoshenko was first for US$500,00 and Joon Hee Yeah from South Korea finished second and won US$250,000. In third place was Rober Karlian from Thailand, who won US$126,000.

These players beat perhaps the toughest ever tournament field assembled in Asia’s history, including ten-time bracelet winners Doyle Brunson and Johnny Chan; acclaimed professional John Juanda; 2008 WSOP final tabler David 'Chino' Rheems and APT Manila champion David Saab.

Chris Parker, CEO of the Asian Poker Tour congratulated the ecstatic winner Timoshenko at a wildly colourful closing ceremony. He then made a draw that gave away one free seat to the next event for one lucky player who had pre-registered for the tournament on the APT’s official website.
