The World Series of Poker Lifestyle Show opened today at the Rio Hotel in Las Vegas, showcasing hundreds of poker items, gadgets and accessories to an expected 7,000 poker enthusiast audience. Poker players from across the country have come to the WSOP, not just as players and spectators but as consumers, purchasing a wide range of goods at the Lifestyle show including bobble-head doll of players, chip sets, tables, card guards, jewelry, poker apparel and almost anything else you could possibly associate with America’s favorite card game.
Besides the innumerable poker accessories, poker magazines, gambling book publishers, poker radio shows and poker television networks were also present in numbers throughout the show floor and offered poker enthusiasts a unique opportunity to interact with the poker media.
Bluff Magazine broadcast a live Bluff Radio Show from the show, while online poker rooms including Doyle Brunson’s Doyle’s Room and Full Tilt Poker had celebrity player autographing sessions throughout the day. Bluff Magazine is offering players Bubble Insurance at tomorrow’s show, allowing any registered player to have a “second chance” for a gold bracelet in 2006, if the finish on the bubble in 2005. Bluff is buying the winners of the Bubble Insurance a free seat in next year’s WSOP.
The WSOP is the largest sporting event in history, and the WSOP Lifestyle Show looks like it is set to be the largest shopping and entertainment event on the poker calendar.
