World Series of Poker Europe begins today

Tuesday, 14 September 2010

The third World Series of Poker Europe kicks off today at The Empire Casino in Leicester Square with new events on the roster and the Who’s Who of the poker world descending on London.

One of the newer events begins proceedings with a two-day, £2,500 No-Limit Hold ‘em 6-max tournament scheduled for today. This is followed by the £5,000 PLO event; the £1,000 No-Limit Hold ‘em event and the £10,000 Main Event. In addition there is also a £10,000 heads-up High Roller tournament scheduled to begin on Tuesday the 21st.

One interesting thing about this event is that the plethora of bracelet bets made by famous pros still count – if Tom “durrrr” Dwan takes down a bracelet in London then he will break even with Phil Ivey and win all other bets; if Ivey wins a bracelet then he collects a cool $5,000,000 payday from Full Tilt Poker boss Howard Lederer.

Join us at Bluff Europe over the coming weeks where we will be bringing you all the action from Leicester Square over the next two weeks.
