World Series of Poker 2009 schedule announced

The WSOP organisers are confident that this year’s festival will break records. That’s a tall order given that last year over 50,000 people competed across 55 events for $180,000,000.
This year, there are some changes to the 57 events on offer. Firstly, rebuy tournaments have been scrapped after fears that some pros and richer players could simply “buy a bracelet.” At Bluff Towers we think that’s pretty silly, as if you can’t afford multiple rebuys you shouldn’t play a rebuy tournament.
Also added is a $40,000 one-off event to celebrate the WSOP’s 40th run. The $10k Main Event and other championships as well as the $50,000 H.O.R.S.E. are still in place, of course.
