World Heads Up Poker Championship returns this November

Tuesday, 21 September 2010

Some of the best heads up players in the world will be heading to The Vic in November for the latest World Heads Up Poker Championship, which this year is being run in association with GUKPT.

The two-handed series will run from 19th to 24th November with the eventual winner having to see off seven opponents in order to claim the title. That was exactly what Bambos Xanthos managed last year. The London cash game regular pocketed £65,000 after beating Irish Open champion James Mitchell in the 2009 final.

Organisers of the event have also confirmed that they have tied up a two-year deal with the Grosvenor UK Poker Tour (GUKPT) with the Heads Up Championship being held as part of the GUKPT Grand Final that runs at The Vic from 18th to 28th November.

The buy-in for the World Heads Up is €2,000+€200 with a series of qualifiers and satellites running at GCasino.com and throughout the iPoker network.

Of course it's not the only great event running at GCasino.com. A GUKPT Brighton prize package worth £1,300 can be won in our latest Card Gang freeroll at GCasino.com this Sunday. For full details visit http://www.bluffeurope.com/cardgang/.
