Linda Johnson is best known to many as the floor announcer of the WPT over the last six seasons. What some of those who tune into the WPT don’t realise though is that Johnson is a great poker player in her own right, having won her first WSOP bracelet in 1997. Her career has spanned over 28 years with all time earnings of over $279,000. In doing so, Johnson has become one of the most respected people in the industry.
Susie Isaacs first hit the limelight when she won the 1996 WSOP Ladies Stud event, a feat she then repeated in 1997 in the same event. Isaacs has been a consistent player on the poker scene for over twenty years, and has earned over $345,000 in career winnings. She’s also a respected writer, having written for several major magazines and websites.
When it comes to legends in poker, there’s none bigger than Barbara Enright. The first woman to reach a final table of The Big One (which she accomplished in 1995), her lifetime earnings are over $1.2 million, putting her eighth in the woman’s all-time money list. She’s also won three WSOP bracelets, two in Stud and one in Pot Limit Hold’em.
The final inductee is Marsha Waggoner. Currently ranked thirteenth on the all-time women’s money list with an impressive $801,000, she’s cashed 19 times over the years at the WSOP, as well as getting to heads-up on the PPT. Another whose career has spanned several decades, Waggoner completes a foursome of the most respected female players in poker, and the recognition couldn’t come soon enough.
