Women Poker Players Take Over St Patrick’s Day

St Patrick’s Day is usually reserved for attempting to drink as much Guinness as is physically possible whilst wearing a green hat and singing Irish folk tunes – even if you’re lacking Irish blood.

St Patrick’s Day is usually reserved for attempting to drink as much Guinness as is physically possible whilst wearing a green hat and singing Irish folk tunes – even if you’re lacking Irish blood. But this year, the Women’s Poker Club will be eschewing the black stuff for the green felt and heading to Atlantic City on March 17th for the Atlantic City Showdown.
Taking place over the whole weekend, the event is not only a showcase for the largest female poker club in the world, but also a chance to win a seat at the World Series of Poker Ladies Event. Satellite tournaments will take place at the Taj Mahal casino, but a small but-in Hold‘em game is also due to take place down the road at Resorts Casino to give everyone a chance, not just those with pro experience.
Although all 3,000 WPC members can take part, non-members can participate too. At least this widens the St Patrick’s Day options from binge drinking and singing off key; something the winners on the weekend may want to also do.
