The first day of competition at the second annual Borgata Winter Poker Open on January 17 saw 1,370 poker players participating in Event 1 alone, rendering it the largest poker tournament in Atlantic City's illustrious history.

The large field featured all levels of players, from novice internet players to seasoned pros and poker heavyweights. Amongst the big-name players participating in Wednesday's event were Men 'the Master' Nguyen and Matt Glantz.
Poker elite including Daniel 'Kid Poker' Negreanu and Jamie Gold will reportedly be arriving in time for the WPT Kickoff Party to be held on January 25.
Along with the 13 main events, there are 32 “Super Satellites” taking place during the Borgata Winter Open and WPT Classic, offering players the chance to take as little as $120 and parlay it into thousands or possibly more than $1.5 million.
