Will you be the paddypower.com Irish Open Sole Survivor?

Friday, 4 February 2011

The 2011 paddypowerpoker.com Irish Open has been announced for April 22 to April 25 with the starting stacks doubled to 20,000. Last year, James Mitchell won €600,000 for besting a field of 708 at the second-oldest poker tournament in the world.

Previous champions include Neil Channing, who won €801,400 when the event was a higher buy-in €4,200 as opposed to the current €3,200, and Marty Smyth who took home €650,000 in 2007. However, some of the real winners have been men or women who finished just short of the win or even the final table itself.

How, you ask? By qualifying for the event via paddypowerpoker.com. Those who qualify to the Irish Open via the sponsors not only win a cheap seat to the event but are automatically entered into the Sole Survivor promotion whereby the last paddypower.com qualifier standing walks away with a cool €100,000 – a nice consolation prize if you bubble the final table.

You can qualify for the event every Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday at paddypowerpoker.com through a €220 freezeout, a €66 rebuy and a €220 freezeout respectively. All tournaments kick off at a UK-friendly 8pm GMT. If you fancy something a little cheaper then on Mondays at 8pm you can qualify to the paddypower.com Irish Open 2011 for as little as €22 in a weekly rebuy guaranteeing one seat worth €3,500.
