Will Molson wins $25,000 PCA High Roller after two seconds

Will Molson has wrenched a monkey off his back and beaten it to death. OK, not literally, but that would be a much more interesting story. Unfortunately we’re just presenting to you the tale of how Molson, having finished runner-up two years in a row at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure $25,000 High Roller event, has finally won the tournament after his third final table in a row.

The Canadian Pro finished second to Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier in 2009 after the French PokerStars Pro had performed his own amazing feat of winning the event the year after taking down the Main Event. In 2010, the poker world took notice when Molson final tabled the $25,000 High Roller event a second time; this time he lost out in heads-up play to William Reynolds though added $323,000 to the $228,000 he won for being runner-up the year before.

Now he has done it. A staggering third final table in a row for the $25,000 High Roller event, this time for a score of $1,072,850 which gives Molson over $1.65m in tournament winnings from this event alone. He defeated Argentine PokerStars Pro Leo Fernandez heads-up after holding up with A-5 versus J-2, after defeating a final table that included Erik Seidel and Tom Marchese.

The full payouts for the PCA 2011 $25,000 High Roller final table were as follows:

1.Will Molson $1,072,850
2.Leo Fernandez $544,925
3.Max Lykov $369,950
4.Erik Seidel $295,950
5.Govert Metaal $240,470
6.David Baker $203,475
7.Matt Marafioti $166,480
8.Jason Mercier $129,480
