Warburton heads Genting Poker Series Stoke

Friday, 3 August 2012

The Stoke leg of the Genting Poker Series is shaping up to be a real biggie with 145 players on hand for the first of two opening flights. At the close of play just 48 remained with Steve Warburton leading the way with 206,000.

Warburton was the only player to break the 200,000 chip mark with Simon Deadman 190,000, Harry Zammit 181,000 and Rodney Buckman 176,300 also riding high. There were plenty of notable names who took to the felt yesterday with Fraser Bellamy 151,600 and Hendon Mobsters Ross Boatman 82,800 and Joe Beevers 63,900 all making it through to day 2.

Ross's brother Barny wasn't quite so lucky though, busting yesterday, as did the likes of Chaz Chattha and our own Paul Jackson.

An even bigger field is expected for the second opening flight which gets under way at 1pm today. You can follow all the action live courtesy of Genting Poker's live stream.
