Wanny Piazza heads WPT Venice

Friday, 16 December 2011

Wanny Piazza is the man to beat heading into day 3 of the World Poker Tour event in Venice. The Italian will return to the table with a stack of 373,500 putting him just ahead of Marvin Rettenmaier on 330,000.

The upper echelons of the chip counts are pretty crowded with Taylor von Kriegenbergh third with 326,900 and long time chip leader Andrea Dato on 282,500. After the elimination of Zimnan Ziyard British interest lies with Roberto Romanello. Last year's WPT Bratislava winner closed day 3 with a just above average stack of 167,100.

Other notables still chasing the €194,000 first place cash include Steve O'Dwyer 197,900 and Arnaud Mattern 70,000.

Railbirds wanting to follow Sunday's final table action will be able to do so via a live stream at WorldPokerTour.com. Jesse May will be doing the honours in the commentary box from 1.30pm UK time.
