In Namibia earlier this week, six men robbed a casino earlier posing as serious poker players.
The robbery took place at the La Lainva club in Walvis Bay, which is about 169 miles from the national capital of Windhoek, after the men had played poker for up to three hours. According to witnesses, the six suddenly produced firearms and held the manager and other customers hostage, demanding money from the casino’s safe.
The manager gave into their demands and the robbers made away with about $3,670 in cash along with jewellery from some of the customers. One customer was hit on the head with a pistol and was taken to hospital for treatment.
According to Detective Sergeant Julia Nujoma of the Erongo Police, the suspects are still at large.
