Michael Mizrachi eliminated in 5th place ($2,332,992)

Sunday, 7 November 2010

Though The Grinder will undoubtedly be disappointed that he couldn't pull off the unprecedented feat of a double $50,000 Players' Championship and $10,000 Main Event title his 5th place finish at this year's final table coupled with his achievements in the summer cement him as legend.

He got it all in with Q-8 on a board of Q-4-5 but Jonathan Duhamel, who in fairness has been hitting the deck all night, called with A-A which held up on broadway turn and river cards to eliminate the rail's favourite son in fifth place.

He went two better than Phil Ivey last year and in conjunction with his two major final tables and victory in the toughest, most prestigious event of the WSOP we personally feel that Michael Mizrachi has earned his status as poker tournament legend.

This leaves us four-handed at the final table with each player remaining guaranteed $3,000,000 plus for their efforts. Blinds are 600k/1.2m with an ante of 200,000 so the pots are 2.6m before each deal. The chip counts are as follows:

Jonathan Duhamel - 91,950,000

Joseph Cheong - 79,650,000

John Racener - 26,150,000

Filippo Candio - 21,550,000
