WSOPE 2011 – action promised at three-handed Shootout

WSOPE 2011 – action promised at three-handed Shootout

Wednesday, 12 October 2011

Yesterday evening saw the first round of the €3,200 NL Shootout event begin in Cannes with today marking the end of the tournament. One player from each table makes 30 surviving to Day 2 and the money with action going to ten three-handed tables in order to set up a ten-handed final table.

Owing to some technicalities, stacks are not rounded off at the end of play, meaning winners of a ten-handed table have more chips than winners of a seven-handed table. However, the event is starting relatively deep and the three-handed aspect promises a lot of action. Terrence Chan, Vanessa Selbst and double UKIPT-winner Max Silver are one table to watch.

Other notable survivors from Day 1 of the Shootout include Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier, 2010 Irish Open Champion James Mitchell, bracelet-winner Sean Getzwiller, Emil “whitelime” Patel, James Dempsey and triple-WCOOP winner Ryan D’Angelo.
