Thomas Bichon eliminated in 19th place (£26,400)

Monday, 27 September 2010

In less than half an hour we have lost three players for one action-packed blind level as everyone aggressively shoves stacks of 5,000 chips into various pots to make the coveted final nine. Thomas Bichon is the latest unfortunate to join the rail at the hands of Viktor “Isildur1” Blom.

Blom got it in bad with K-Q against the A-Q of Frenchman Bichon but the Poker Gods smiled on Sweden when they delivered a king high flop and left Bichon drawing slimly to just three outs and a backdoor wheel draw. The dealer didn’t deliver a miracle and Blom racks up Bichon’s chips, giving himself a 900,000 stack and moving just behind Ronald Lee in the counts.

Phil Ivey, meanwhile, is up to 775,000 after eliminating Jani Sointula in a 4-4 versus Q-J coinflip delivered in the worst possible way on a J-9-5-K-4 board. With the action this fast and furious we should be down to a final table in the next ten minutes!
