Some chip counts during dinner; Trickett and Brits dominate

Friday, 24 September 2010

With players still on the dinner break we have 162 hungry poker enthusiasts returning in forty minutes to play level four of Day 1b at the World Series of Poker Europe. With an average stack of around 40,000 blinds will be 200/400/50 at the beginning of level four.

Sam Trickett is still chip leader, his stack looks like it has around 100,000. However, he is being pursued by Event 1 winner Phil Laak who doubled with a set of twos against A-K to bring his stack to over 90,000. Mrs Phil Laak, better known as Jennifer Tilly, is also doing well with about 50,000 in front of her.

Other young Brits joining Trickett in the top counts include Irish Open winner James Mitchell and JP Kelly, who came within a few chips of making it back-to-back £1,075 WSOPE events before losing out to Scott Shelley last week. Liv Boeree has also chipped up with about 45,000 in front of her while Praz Bansi still has over 50,000 despite losing a big pot to Daniel Negreanu.

We’ll return to the action at 20.40 but until then... we’re hungry.
