Roland de Wolfe de doubles in de chip counts

Monday, 27 September 2010

UK pro Roland de Wolfe wants to add another WSOP bracelet to his Triple Crown repertoire and after shoving his short stack in the middle twice in the first blind level he has come that much closer to making his goal.

His first all-in was something of an anti-climax when his K-J met K-J. Like Mueller and Steinberg beforehand, they split the pot only this time it was expected. Just now, he doubled through Marc Inizan when his open shove from middle position found one caller in the shape of Inizan’s small blind.

De Wolfe turned up Ad-8h, the ominous Dead Man’s Hand, while Inizan showed Ts-Th so it certainly seemed that De Wolfe was going the way of Bill Hickock. A 7s-6d-5s flop provided the perfect sweat to give de Wolfe straight outs as well as the three aces, one of which dutifully fell on the turn. A blank river lead to him doubling up his 100,000 stack.

It’s been a little under an hour of play at Day 4 and we’ve seen our list of players drop from 22 to 19 already. Blinds are 4,000/8,000/1,000 with Viktor Blom and Ronald Lee leading the field; just under a million chips apiece before each player.
