The final break is over; the final level begins. Viktor Blom is still leading the field over Darren Woods, Nick Schulman and Dan Shak while Phil Ivey slips outside the top five. Mike Matusow has become the latest player to hit the rail along with fellow Full Tilt Pro Allen Cunningham. There are 87 players left with blinds at 1,000/2,000/300.

Mike Matusow took a bad beat before the break when he made a hero call pre-flop with A9o against 8c-5c. A three club flush saw to it that half his stack was shipped across the table though and in the first hand after the break Andrew Pantling called his shove with 8-8. Matusow held A-6 and despite hitting a pair it wasn’t the right one – a 4-6-2-Q-T board sees The Mouth gone from the tables.

We also had a brief chat with Huck Seed – he’s on 150,000 and doing well but seemed disappointed that we couldn’t tell him who certain players on the next table were. We took the opportunity to ask if he was RaiseOnce on PokerStars (the WCOOP $25k heads-up winner rumoured to be Seed, Ivey or Antonius).

“Nah,” he said. “That’s not me. It’s someone good though.”

At this juncture there are just 76 players left in contention and play is wrapping up as we head into the last hour of Day 2.
