We're just settling down after our second break of the day to play the 500/1,000 level. The average stack is just over 70,000 and despite heavy losses there are some star players making big comebacks.

Since we last gave an update, we've lost both Faraz Jaka and Patrik Antonius. The latter has been short-stacked all day and ran his last 10,800 into A-A with K-T to hit the rail in 149th place. Jaka lost a flip with 9-9 versus A-K and was crippled to a few big blinds. He left shortly after.

Meanwhile, a couple of players are building up monster stacks. PokerStars Pro and three-time WSOP bracelet-winner Barry Greenstein got his chips in and wound up in dire straits with As-Qs against A-A and K-K. He made a flush, though, and tripled up to just under 100,000.

Comeback of the century award goes to Adrian Passfield, though - he arrived today with 4,725 (15 big blinds and change in the first level) but has now moved to above average with 85,000. Most recently he doubled a 42,000 stack with a 7-bet shove holding K-K against... Q-3. Yup.

Another player increasing their stack is Phil Ivey. He fired all three bullets on a Ts-9s-8s-2h-3s board and got his opponent to fold Qs-Qx face-up with the last 30,000 bet, moving his stack up to about 170,000.

Now players are resuming for the third level today and ninth overall. Blinds are 500/1,000/100; shuffle up and deal. Again.
