Jennifer Tilly eliminated in an otherwise slow level; 82 remain

Saturday, 25 September 2010

A combination of tiredness, the day drawing on and the post-dinner slump means that action has been muted with only nine eliminations this level. One every ten minutes may sound a lot but we had almost fifty in the first level and 31 last level.

The most noteworthy hand was the one that saw Jennifer Tilly leave us. We missed the pre-flop action but all her chips went in on a Td-9s-6h board; she held Th-7h for a gutshot and a backdoor flush draw. Her opponent turned over J-J for the overpair and a 6c turn reduced her outs to four. The river bricked and she left the room.

Strolling to the next table she had some brief words with boyfriend Phil Laak – who is no big stack himself – and a comforting hug... she also patted his bum which spoiled the ambience somewhat. Anyway, that was the most interesting event of the past forty-five minutes or so. We’re down to around 83 players and the survivors will be going on break in the next five minutes before returning for the last level of Day 2.
