Gus Hansen vs. Jim Collopy in Heads-Up High Roller final

Gus Hansen vs. Jim Collopy in Heads-Up High Roller final

Thursday, 23 September 2010

The World Series of Poker Europe is still on dinner break for the Main Event but there should be some action kicking off for bored and handsome journalists such as myself. Jim Collopy moved all-in from the button with K9o and Vaswani picked up AJ. It did him no good on a 7-T-6-8-3 board though.

This means that The Great Dane Gus Hansen will hobble over to the centre of the stage shortly for his final heads-up confronation against Collopy. Currently the chips and tables are being rearranged to accommodate the High Roller final that will see both players take home six figure prizes – but one gets an extra £115,000 plus their first WSOP bracelet.

Going into the event Hansen seems a favourite – the tournament maestro has three WPT titles as well as his Aussie Millions victory but has yet to secure a bracelet. Collopy is relatively unknown but still has over $125,000 in lifetime tournament cashes. He, too, will be looking for his first bracelet.

While we wait for the Main Event to resume I’ll be bringing you the action both here and on Twitter from the Hansen vs. Collopy heads-up showdown.
