Day 3 is in the book – Lee leads with 22 left.

Monday, 27 September 2010

We are on to Day 4 officially with 22 players returning tomorrow. Ronald Lee leads the diminished field and is just short of the seven-figure milestone with 947,000 in chips. David Peters is next followed by long time chip leader Andrew Pantling.

The Internet's favourite son, Viktor "Isildur1" Blom, is still very much in the hunt too with 675,000 chips. Looming close behind is Phil Ivey who will be looking to claim his ninth WSOP bracelet; the second since his bet with Howard Lederer and claim a cool $5,000,000 prop bet. Oh, and the £830,401 first prize.

Joining them in the elite group are Greg Mueller, Barny Boatman, Roland de Wolfe and Arnaud Mattern. Spare a thought for Barry Greenstein who had his aces cracked by Daniel Steinberg's pocket tens just before the close of play. Classy guy that he is Barry still managed to sign a copy of his Ace On The River book for a rather sheepish Steinberg.

The remaining chip counts are as follows:
Ronald Lee 947,000
David Peters 829,000
Andrew Pantling 821,000
Daniel Steinberg 768,000
Viktor Blom 705,000
Phil Ivey 657,000

Anthony Newman 280,000
Brian Powell 264,000
Jani Sointula 181,000
Greg Mueller 151,000
