World record attempt from Paul Zimbler

World record attempt from Paul Zimbler

Thursday, 3 September 2009

“Dedication, that’s what you need” was the song used on TV show Record Breakers and that’s exactly what Paul Zimbler will need as he attempts to get into the record books at the 2009 World Series Of Poker Europe.

In a move that would have delighted the late Norris McWhirter, the Marbella Kid is attempting to break the record for the longest consecutive stretch of heads-up poker. The target he has to beat is a whopping 74 hours 12 minutes, which was set by Paul Cain last year.

Joining Zimbler in his record-breaking attempt will be a number of top pros including WSOPE Main Event champion Annette Obrestad. As well as trying to get Zimbler’s name into the record books, the attempt will also raise money for charity with all proceeds going to the SPARKS charity.
