After Teddy Sheringham continued his rush to knock out Steve Zolotow in 31st place, a wave of eliminations have swept the Empire. Tommy Pavlicek got it in with A4 vs a dominated AJ to hit the rail with £21,142.

Negreanu and Brunson doubled through Arnaud Mattern and Men Nguyen with big aces before we turned more Roman than Phil Hellmuth and two Christians went out in succession – Christian Kruel and Christain Harder both lost out to finish 29th and 30th.

John Kabbaj was the last one to be eliminated for £21,142 as he finished 28th. He lost out with KT to A6 despite a T on the flop.

PokerStars PRO Andre Akkari got the first pay jump as he finished 27th, earning over £25,000. He was swiftly joined by Men “The Master” Nguyen, who ran middle two pair into Daniel Negreanu’s set, moving Negreanu up the chip ranks.

WCoOP Main Event winner Yevgeniy Timoshenko busted in 25th after losing the AK vs 66 coinflip, swiftly followed by Peter Gould.

Doyle Brunson then eliminated Frenchman Arnaud Mattern, the poker Gods rewarding him for years of service by gifting his 88 a third snowman against KK. He shot up to almost 500,000.

Asian beauty Liz Lieu was eliminated when she bluffed at the wrong time – Matt Hawrilenko called with 97 on a 774 flop and her AJ couldn’t work miracles. Konstantin Bücherl left in 21st before one-time chipleader Steven Fung lost a huge pot to Jason Mercier with AT v TT all-in pre-flop. Mercier became the first player to break the 1m chip mark with that hand and remains the chip leader on nearly 1.3m.

Notable names in the field include November Niner James Akenhead and fellow November Nine tablemate Antoine Saout, as well as poker legends Doyle Brunson and Daniel Negreanu. CardRunners pro Eric Liu is still in there as is ex-footballer Teddy Sheringham.
