Final Table Set at WSOPE £5,000 PLO Event

Final Table Set at WSOPE £5,000 PLO Event

Friday, 25 September 2009

A field of over 150 players in Event #3 of the 2009 Betfair World Series of Poker Europe has been narrowed down to a final nine as the £5,000 PLO event closed yesterday.

PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker PLO 6-max winner Jani Viliumen leads the way, with a 3:2 chip lead over his nearest opponent, Aarno Kivelio. Interestingly, the chip leader has position on the second-place man which could make for some huge pots at the final table.

Well, it’s Omaha – huge pots are a given. This final table also contains huge names, with multiple WSOP bracelet-winner and Full Tilt Poker co-owner Howard Lederer in joint fourth place (making his second final table in succession at the WSOPE) In addition, PLO specialist Robert Williamson III is there, albeit with a very short stack, and Hendon mobster Ross Boatman joins the party too. Roberto Romanello and Jeff Kimber have also tagged along and are flying the British flag.

Play resumes at 1pm today when a winner will be crowned in the event.

The full chip counts and seat assignments are as follows:

Seat 1: Robert Williamson III -- 64,000
Seat 2: Ville Haavisto -- 249,000
Seat 3: Howard Lederer -- 320,000
Seat 4: Jeff Kimber -- 133,000
Seat 5: Dan Hindin -- 320,000
Seat 6: Aarno Kivelio -- 608,000
Seat 7: Jani Vilmunen -- 899,000
Seat 8: Roberto Romanello -- 306,000
Seat 9: Ross Boatman -- 180,000
