6 remain at the Betfair Million Dollar Game Final Table

Thursday, 17 September 2009

The 18-man field has been whittled down to 6 remaining contestants with Italy’s Piergiorgio D’ancona sitting with the chip lead.

Not far behind him is Frenchman Kevin Michoud who’s pocket 7’s crippled Spain’s Albert Fontanillas after both players got it all in before the flop. Fontanillas held AK and despite the king falling on the flop and a momentary yelp from the crowd, the silent 7 went briefly unnoticed before Fontanillas realized he was drawing thin. Fontanillas finished in 8th before Emil Bayrev of Bulgaria crashed out in 7th place after his A 10 lost to the pocket sevens of Mark Heathfield.

Still in the hunt are Vi Hung Phan of Canada, Mark Heathfield of the UK , Anestis Metsas of Greece and short-stack Alexandru Didea of Romania.

Play continues 6-handed now after an hour-long break. Keep posted to find out who will win the $1 million first prize.
