WSOPE Gets Under Way Today

Friday, 11 October 2013

Although things haven't quite wrapped up at EPT London the attention of the MTT community is already turning towards Paris and this year's World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE). Having changed venue once again the premium poker festival is looking to become the most popular incarnation ever and attract pros from across the globe.

Indeed, with a number of North American pros, including Phil Hellmuth, Barry Greenstein and Daniel Negreanu, already this side of the Atlantic the talent on display in France is expected to be high. Also set to make the trip is Phil Ivey who will be looking to take his mind off his ongoing legal battle with Crockfords Casino.

In total this year's WSOPE will feature eight bracelet events, including the €10,000 Main Event and a €25,000 High Roller.

Kicking off the schedule later today will be a €1,100 Ladies event before a €1,100 No Limit Hold'em re-entry event takes place on Saturday.

The first of the higher buy-in tournaments will take place on Monday with the Mixed-Max No Limit Hold'em, but all eyes will be on the Main Event which gets under way on October 19.
