WSOP 2011 – Vitaly Lunkin, Dan Kelly in NL Shootout final 16

Friday, 10 June 2011

The second day of the $1,500 NL Shootout has concluded with a sweet sixteen remaining, among them five WSOP bracelet-winners including David Pham who boasts a $2,000 NL Shootout title from previous years. He is joined by Dan Kelly, Erik Cajelais, Frank Kassela and Vitaly Lunkin.

Tomorrow’s final will see the 16 players play two eight-handed Single-Table-Tournaments before condensing into a final table proper. With each player guaranteed $4,998 but payouts for Day 3 beginning at $13,238 and increasing to a first prize of $369,371 no one is going to want to be the first elimination tomorrow evening.

The players who made the money but failed to hit Day 3 make a long, star-studded list: Daniel Negreanu, Lex Veldhuis, ElkY, Brandon Cantu, Nam Le, Scott Seiver, Jennifer Tilly, Eric Mizrachi, Roberto Romanello, Eric Baldwin, Scott Montgomery, Amit Makhija and Amir Lehavot all left the event $4,998 richer but failed to make the final two tables.
