WSOP 2011 – Chris “Genius28” Lee wins 6-max 10-Game Mix

Monday, 20 June 2011

Online players Shaun Deeb and John D’Agostino were beaten to the bracelet in the inaugural $2,500 10-Game Mix event last night by an online player considered old school by 2011; Chris “Genius28” Lee fought his way through NL, PLO, Omaha 8, 2-7 Triple Draw, Stud, Stud 8, Razz, Limit Hold ‘em, NL 2-7 Draw and Badugi.

Despite the presence of PLO, No Limit Hold ‘em and No Limit 2-7 the field still needed an extra day to crown a winner; the final table was paused overnight with Lee returning alongside Brian Haveson and Travis Pearson after online tournament legend Shaun Deeb was eliminated late on Day 3.

Lee ended up eliminating Pearson early on and took a huge chip lead heads-up against Brian Haveson. Despite some doubling on the eventual runner-up’s part Lee eventually sealed the deal in a round of Limit 2-7 Triple Draw. Haveson was all-in after the second draw and he revealed a strong 8-7-5-2 against Lee’s T-9-8-4-2, drawing to a ten, nine, six, four or three to double up once more. The King was no good to him and Lee took the bracelet.

The full final table payouts were as follows:
1.Christopher “Genius28” Lee - $254,955
2.Brian Haveson - $157,491
3.Travis Pearson - $101,258
4.Shaun Deeb - $67,146
5.Kendall Fukumoto - $45,839
6.John D’Agostino - $32,200
