WSOP 2011 – $1,500 PLO final table set with an online presence

Wednesday, 15 June 2011

The four-figure field in the $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha event has been whittled down to a final table of nine with two big online players in contention for their first bracelet despite being at the bottom of the chip counts. Former Brunson 10 member David Sands and 2 Months, 2 Million star Emil Patel are eighth and ninth in the counts respectively.

Leading the way into the final table is Juha Vilkki, the only player with more than a million in chips and twice the stack of his nearest competitor.

He is also an apparent psychic – in the hand that burst the final table bubble he got it in with A-A-6-Q versus A-A-2-T and declared that his six of hearts would win him the hand. Flopped one six, rivered another.

The Finnish online player has apparently been playing since before he was 16 years old and the experience shows – his 1.555m stack dwarfs the second place Rafe Kibrit’s 667,000 and sets Vilkki up nicely for a bracelet tomorrow.

The full chip counts for the final table are as follows:

1.Juha Vilkki – 1.555m
2.Rafe Kibrit – 667k
3.Cody Munger – 652k
4.Elie Payan – 545k
5.Stephen Wolfe – 523k
6.Jeff Sarwer – 480k
7.Roland Israelashvili – 310k
8.David Sands – 250k
9.Emil Patel – 147k
