Sadan Turker heads $1k NL Hold'em

Wednesday, 8 June 2011

Just over a week into the 2011 WSOP there are already two bracelets heading back to Blighty (or more specifically Rochdale) care of Jake Cody and Matt Perrins. Could a third be in the offing? Well it certainly looks that way as Londoner Sadan Turker holds a big chip lead with just 3 players remaining in event #8 the $1k NL Hold'em.

When play drew to a very late close Turker bagged up 7.91m chips putting him comfortably ahead of Sean Getzwiller on 3m and Jon Turner on 1.9m. The trio are all guaranteed at least $274,005 but the jump for first place is a big one with the winner set to walk away with $611,185 plus the all important jewellery.

All eyes at the start of the day had been on defending Main Event winner Jonathan Duhamel but the World Champions bid for a second bracelet stalled early on. Other notables who made the money but hit the rail included Eric Mizrachi, Young Phan, John Esposito and John Eames.

Join us tomorrow to see whether Turker can make it a hat trick of UK bracelets in the first ten days of the World Series.
