WSOP Main Event Day 3 complete – James Carroll leads the way

Tuesday, 13 July 2010

As we head into Day 4 of the WSOP Main Event 1,240 players are still in the hunt for the money with James Carroll leading the way. The big story from day three was Johnny Chan though.

The two-time Main Event winner had another great day leaving him ninth in the chip counts at the close of play. Joining the 1987 and 1988 winner at the head of the leader board was Johnny Lodden. The subject of 'What Johnny Lodden Thinks?' presumably only has thoughts of a big cash and November Nine glory.

Other big names still in the hunt include Jesper Hougaard, Cole South, Barry Shulman, David Benyamine, Vanessa Selbst, Juha Helppi, Phil Galfond, Jason Mercier, Sammy Farha as well as the massed ranks of the four Mizrachi brothers. JP Kelly and David Burn head the British challenge with Darren Woods, Praz Bansi and John Shipley still in the hunt.

High profile casualties included Daniel Negreanu, Chris Ferguson, Phil Laak, Erik Seidel and former champions Chris Moneymaker and Joe Cada.

The leading chip counts are as follows:
James Carroll 803,000
Imari Love 741,000
Gerasimos Deres 733,700
Max Casal 687,200
Josh Brikis 669,000
Arie Kliper 666,200
Andrew Brown 657,700
Johnny Lodden 656,400
Johnny Chan 636,000

The action resumes at 8pm UK time. Join us to see who gets closer to the money.
