Star-studded field remains in $5,000 2-7 Lowball event

Wednesday, 2 June 2010

Sorry, did we say the $5,000 Shootout had big names? Well, after they were eliminated from that event they obviously put another $5,000 in and joined Event #7, the 2-7 Lowball. In total the event received 291 entries which really says great things about poker; that’s a big field.

As we write 100 players are left, but what a hundred! Hoyt Corkins is running away with it at the moment, up to 62,000 chips from his 5,000 starting stack. He leads Allen Kessler, Greg “FBT” Mueller, Scott Seiver, Jeff Lisandro, Isaac Haxton, Brandon Cantu, Steve Zolotow, Ted Forrest, Barry Greenstein, Huck Seed, David Singer, Eli Elezra and David Bach. In that order.

The closer their name to the top of the list, the more likely you are to be reading about them here tomorrow. Unfortunately the event is still ongoing and since this is poker, absolutely anything can happen. What we can tell you for sure, though, is that out of the 100 remaining players there will be 30 spots paid and a first prize of $180,730 alongside the WSOP bracelet.
