Matusow has the chip lead in Tournament of Champions

Tuesday, 29 June 2010

The second day of the Tournament of Champions million-dollar invitational did not go as planned – instead of playing to a final table, only one player busted in three hours of poker which means there will have to be another four levels shoehorned in before the Main Event.

At the end of Day 2, Mike Matusow leads the field on 85,500; ahead of second-place Huck Seed who could only muster up 73,000 to push ahead of third place Johnny Chan. The few unfortunate players to bust were current champion Joe Cada; poker legend Doyle Brunson; online qualifier Andrew Barton and recent Hall of Fame addition Mike Sexton.

The next four hours of play are scheduled for this Saturday, providing there is no clash with the $25,000 6-max or Ante Up for Africa tournaments. The top five chip counts are as follows:

1. Mike Matusow 85,500
2. Huck Seed 73,000
3. Johnny Chan 68,600
4. Scotty Nguyen 64,700
5. Joe Hachem 64,300
