Just two tables remain in $5,000 NL Event #17

Antonio Esfandiari is about due a World Series of Poker bracelet and he has a better than average chance of securing it in Event #17, a $5,000 NLHE tournament that concluded Day 2 today. Of the near-800 entrants to the tournament just 18 remain with The Magician looking healthy in sixth place on the chip counts.

Britain’s Sam Trickett is looking to make it three bracelets for Blighty as he sits in fifth place on 945,000. Leading overall, though, is Jason DeWitt who has built up a monster stack of 1.873m. James Akenhead, Tony G, Jason Mercier, Chris Ferguson, Phil Ivey, Scotty Nguyen and Phil Hellmuth couldn’t match his accomplishments and they all hit the rail before day’s end.


Another notable name is Tom Dwan’s good friend and online cash game pro David “raptor” Benefeld, who you last saw folding trip sixes to Doyle Brunson on the NBC Poker After Dark Nets v Vets cash game. He is hanging in there on 326,000.
