Eight levels later and the 346 entrants to the $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha World Championship, Event #55, have been whittled down to 171 – still a million miles from the money bubble and the $780,599 first prize.

Eli Elezra finished the day with a healthy chip stack as did Tom Dwan and Annette Obrestad, looking for their bracelets due to money and pride respectively. Australian player Tony Paino took the top spot in the chip counts after accumulating 240,000 in chips.

Brit James Akenhead is doing well, though – he finished in third place after bagging up 181,100 in chips by the end of the day. Both Annette and durrrr crept into the top ten chip counts with the Norwegian in ninth on 106,900 and Dwan just behind, stacking up 103,800.

The top five chip counts are as follows:
1. Tony Paino 240,000
2. Dimitry Stelmak 226,000
3. James Akenhead 181,100
4. Felix Gubitz 178,600
5. Mikhail Smirnov 169,800
