Final table set at Event #24, $1,000 No Limit Hold ‘em

Wednesday, 16 June 2010

It was a very short Day 3 for Event #24, $1,000 No-Limit Hold ‘em yesterday as it took just five hour-long blind levels for the 30 remaining players to narrow the field down to a final table of nine. JD McNamara leads the field on over 2.35m chips but Kiet Tran Tuan is nipping at his heels.

McNamara began the day with just 240,000 and confidently chipped up throughout to finish the fifth blind level of play as chip leader. Tran Tuan began with an average chip stack and mirrored McNamara’s rapid accumulation of chips, albeit finishing a few big blinds behind.

Alexis Balanger-Label was the final table bubble boy in unfortunate circumstances – he declared all-in against a shorter stack, not realising that Blake Kelso had moved all in under the gun. He wound up calling off most of his stack with Kh-2h against Kelso’s JJ and couldn’t improve, shortly busting a few hands later.

The full final table chip counts are as follows with 15,000/30,000 blinds:
1. JD McNamara 2,393,000
2. Kiet Tran Tuan 2,311,000
3. Blake Kelso 1,166,000
4. John Tolbert 925,000
5. David Cai 844,000
6. Denis Murphy 789,000
7. Greg Pohler 660,000
8. Michael Gross 535,000
9. Jeffrey Tebben 466,000
