Event #47, $1,000 NL, underway with 476 players remaining

Monday, 28 June 2010

The last $1,000 No-Limit Hold ‘em event of the 2010 World Series of Poker saw a monster field as over three thousand players put up a grand to compete in a tournament that has now set a first prize of $485,791.

Ben Klier leads the 476 remaining players but he has some competition from those below him who couldn’t quite match his 65,275 stack. In sixth place is two-time WSOP bracelet-winner Jeff Madsen and occupying the seventh spot is none other than poker boom initiator Chris Moneymaker, 2003 WSOP champion.

Jimmy Fricke, David Sklansky, Matt Hawrilenko, and Oliver Busquet are also still in contention to head into the money when the bubble bursts at 324 players. Busquet is in better shape than most with his 59,100 giving him the third place in the overnight chip counts.

The top five chip counts are as follows:

1. Ben Klier 65,275
2. Richard Ferro 64,375
3. Olivier Busquet 59,100
4. Scott Dorin 54,200
5. Vadin Trinoher 47,525
