Event #38, $10,000 Pot-Limit Hold ‘em, Day 2 completed

Event #38, $10,000 Pot-Limit Hold ‘em, Day 2 completed

Tuesday, 22 June 2010

Play has entered the money as less than three tables remain in Event #38, the $10,000 Pot-Limit Hold ‘em World Championship. Yesterday 122 players took to the felt to play down to the money but after losing such poker legends as Phil Ivey, Andy Bloch, Daniel Negreanu, Barry Greenstein and Joe Hachem we are left with the last 26.

Top of the league is Peter Jetten on 684,000 but he has some competition beneath him. Day 2 chip leader Tom “kingsofcards” Marchese still managed to bag up the fourth-biggest stack of chips but below him we have more talent in the forms of Noah Boeken and EPT winner Sandra Naujoks… and Bluff Europe have called it being the Year of the Woman.

Play wound up one into the money today as Mike “The Mouth” Matusow busted in 27th place and became the first and thus only player to cash. The top chip counts are as follows:

1 Peter Jetten 684,000
2 Clement Thumy 616,000
3 Samuel Stein 531,000
4 Tom Marchese 522,000
5 James Calderaro 509,000
